Urban Factory
Speculative Design
Speculative design research developed during the third term of MIARD, investigating the theme of consumption through the lens of future food systems.
The project focused on agriculture and wheat production, exploring how food cultivation could be reintroduced into urban environments as part of everyday public life. Through scenario building and research-led design, the work examined alternative models in which cities become active sites of production rather than consumption alone.
The project proposes new relationships between urban space, collective participation and food autonomy, questioning how future communities might reconnect with the processes of growing, managing and sharing resources.
